saudade

Saudade (pronounced /sɐwˈðaðɨ/ or /sawˈdadi/) is a profound Portuguese term for a bittersweet, melancholic longing for an absent person, place, or time, often intertwined with affection and the knowledge that the object of desire may never return. It represents a “deep emotional state of nostalgic longing” for memories or things that are gone.

late night doom scrolling is never a good use of time, but occasionally you learn something new, whether you wanted to or not.

reflections

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do

I registered this domain 20 years ago with the intent of doing something creative with it. I think for a week I setup a snarky CNAME and used it as a vhost for an irc BNC.

It eventually became a place where I wrote cryptic and melodramatic posts about events in my life and feelings I didn’t have an outlet to express otherwise.

I’m disappointed but not entirely surprised to be back here again.

the return

it’s mine again, and i don’t intend on losing it twice.
